Ion Cannon

Ion cannons produce small electrified particles in which the molecules of a gas are broken up using electric current, ultraviolet light rays, and high temperatures. These electrically charged particles are then accelerated through a magnetic tube to near sub-light speeds. An ion battery consists of several cannons that can bombard a ship's sensors and shields.
